Rainbow Trivia Answers:

1. 7 - Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo and Violet

Although we may see bands of color, a rainbow really has a continuous spectrum.

2. Red

3. Niagara Falls, Ontario and New York

The bridge connects the city of Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada to the city of Niagara Falls, New York, United States.

Massive chunks of ice came over Niagara Falls in 1938 and formed an ice jam. The ice pushed against the foundation of the Honeymoon Bridge, which eventually collapsed on January 27.

Four years later, the Rainbow Bridge was built near the same site. Its girders were built higher above the water to prevent a similar collapse.

4. True

For the primary rainbow, light is reflected only once in each raindrop; for the secondary rainbow, the light is reflected twice within each raindrop. It is because of the second reflection that the colors of the secondary rainbow are inverted.

5. True

You can see a whole rainbow circle from the sky, with the plane's shadow in the center of the circle.

From the ground, a rainbow appears to end just over the horizon. You can never reach the leprechaun's pot of gold that is said to be at the end of the rainbow. A rainbow is an optical effect of light and water, so if you move, the rainbow moves too.
